Yesterday marked five years since the inaugural Instagram photo was posted, and go figure, it was a dog. Co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger went on to launch Instagram the following October and it’s all history from there.
Since then, the photo sharing service has joined the ranks of popular social media giants such as Facebook and twitter.
Let’s take a look at what a typical day looks like for Instagram:
On average, Instagram sees 70 million posts a day. That’s an estimated 10.5 terabytes of data! If the Library of Congress’ print collection was measured in terabytes, it would only amount to 10 TB.
